It's easy to know it is ridiculous too, because you can flip it to whether you harbour any hatred for people of a given country, for things their ancestors did.

e.g. Zero hate for Germans for WW2, yet somehow I get the impression they hold the guilt.

Even my nan that lived through ( and narrowly escaped ) the blitz recognises the distinction between then and now. If anything she holds suspicion, but not hatred or blame.
