I have now zigzagged between my kids’ schools twice. First dropping them each off, then dropping off something important they forgot.

How’s your morning going? 🫠

One thing I experience often: “go to the bathroom, we’re going for a long drive “

“No! I don’t need to!”

Start driving…

“I need to go to the bathroom! 😭”

🤦‍♂️

Mine have thankfully outgrown that and moved on to this…

“I can’t find [item].”

“Did you look?”

“Yes.”

“Like, actually looked?”

“Yes.”

*I immediately find the item exactly where it was supposed to be*

Every. Single. Time.

Waiting for my slow af daughter to get ready so we can fiat mine

LMAO people who don't have kids have no idea how much time kids take. Talk about a low time preference investment of your time 🤣

I don't have kids, but it's pretty clear they take ALL of the time. But raising kids is far more valuable & rewarding (if you do it well) than most of the activities people might do instead.

"But I really like drinking with my friends & going to the movies" ...okay, well when you're 80 and lonely because all of your friends are dead or dying are you really gonna be glad that you partied instead of raising a family that would still want to see you & actually make your life seem like it was worth something?

It's definitely a low time preference investment, but there are few, if any, better choices.

💯 Having kids is one of the best decisions I ever made, if not THE best. My biggest misconception before I had them, though, was thinking that they would be an addition to my existing life. I quickly realized that I needed to restructure my life to include them. That means giving certain things up, reprioritizing your time and your plans, both short and long term. Sounds obvious, but it doesn't hit you how much it changes things until you actually have to start making decisions and making changes with how you spend your time.
