Man, most of the time if I don't hear back I just assume I was rejected. But this morning I got officially rejected from something I applied to five months ago, so, there's that. I feel it was kind of unnecessary.

Embrace it. You just found another way that's not working for you, which will help you in your future quests. Persistence is the key!
Iām so grateful when they reject me 5 months later after I already started another job. I just like having that peace of mind instead of waiting for an answer.
I assume I'm rejected if I don't hear back within two weeks. And at no point do I stop looking for a job until I get that first paycheck š
It must happen eventually, it's just a numbers game!
