But Android is like a candy store. You have to do a little homework to avoid a dud.

Like bitcoin, I found nostr to be such an important emerging technology that I bought the dedicated hardware that allowed me to run the software I wanted in the way I wanted.
Sweet, use Linux Mint Cinnamon. You can dual boot it on an old laptop and it will run like new.
You can also download a live copy of it to a USB thumb drive or DVD, so you can see if it's compatible with your hardware.
You can also install and run it from a USB thumb drive. The thumb drive should be at least USB 3.0. 64gb. Or more. The hardware can be just USB 2.0.
Use Timeshift religiously. It's like Windows system restore. Then back up your apps. You can always reinstall the OS if you need to..🫂🐧😊
Speaking of Linux that is tasteful and well done, KDE Neon released their Plasma 6 version which is probably the prettiest Linux ever…

I played around with old boxes running Slackware and Debian.. two decades ago then last year I installed Pop! and wondered what went wrong with Linux?
FreeBSD is actually how I was introduced to learn j00nix-like OS. Something I’ve considered relearning but it just seems too complex for personal use.
