So what. I don’t understand why people attack others if they don’t publish work as open source. If you don’t like it don’t use it.

It is especially bad when you call yourself "Open" and your main goal is to access other open source software. If it was a client for X or instagram or facebook let's say, it would've been be.

Where does it call itself open? Other than the name witch is only in reference to using open standards like activity pub. That’s where the name comes from NOT that the application is open source.
