Could couldn’t? What does that mean? 😂

Plus who cares stop using Openvibe if you don’t want to use it you tool.

You are still at it? Wow. You are not entitled to tell others how to run a business or mandate people give work away for free. Grow up.

Again what the heck are you talking about. Nowhere do they say they are or plan to be open source, so just stop.

Don’t like it, don’t use it. Nobody is forcing you to use the application.

Where does it call itself open? Other than the name witch is only in reference to using open standards like activity pub. That’s where the name comes from NOT that the application is open source.

A message to all the new folks:

Welcome! We're all glad you are here and get to experience true freedom of speech.

I hope you are prepared for what that means.

We don't LARP about freedom of speech here. You can literally say anything you want and you will not be banned. You CANNOT be banned.

If I don't like what you have to say, I can mute you, and I can blacklist you from posting to any of my relays, but you will still be able to post to any other public relay on the network, or host your own relay for your content.

That means you equally cannot get anyone else banned from #Nostr either, no matter how horrific, offensive, hurtful, or antagonistic their posts may be. Nostr is not a safe space. If you are going to stick around, you are going to have to be able to deal with that fact. There have already been plenty of folks who have left because they could not handle the fact that there are no authorities here who can bring the ban-hammer down on internet jerks and creeps.

YOU are the only one who can control the content that you see. Don't want to see an npub's replies to your posts anymore? Mute them and be done with it. No one else can silence them for you.

When you are new, it can sometimes feel like you are shouting into the void and can't really gain any traction. This is because Nostr is still in the very infant stages of enabling various kinds of discoverability optimizing algorithms, and only certain clients currently have even these available.

Rather than just posting notes into the abyss, hoping someone will see them when you have no followers, try browsing hashtags that are related to your interests and engage with those who are already using those hashtags. This is a value-for-value community. Give others the engagement they are seeking and they are likely to reciprocate.

Finally, ignore your follower count. It is not exactly meaningless, but it is impossible to get an accurate number for how many people are following you, because of how following works here. Focus on providing value to the community in your own way and take responsibility for curating your own feed.

If you have any questions about how all this works, just #asknostr. We'll point you in the right direction.

Wait really? Ok I am out.

Stop using Meta services. So many alternatives like my network https://hey.cafe or using mastodon.
