They had recorded 9,404 killed and 21,671 injured by May 2016 in Eastern Ukraine which had nothing to do with Crimea. Oh and that continued on for another 6 years until Russia rolled in.
In that same paragraph, it says the fighting was fueled by the inflow of foreign fighters and weapons from the Russian Federation. Russia already rolled in.
Ukraine was reckless at times in how it was fighting and was wrong where civilians were killed — being in conflict with armed separatists does not justify killing of civilians. However, make no mistake that this was fueled by Russia. It certainly does not justify Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

No. That’s not what I said at all in either note. The implication was that Ukraine as a whole were systematically and deliberately eliminating “ethnic Russian” Ukrainian civilians, which I do not agree. My family and friends had to flee Ukraine while Russia raped and pillaged Ukraine. I do not support war, attacking of innocent civilians, or invading sovereign territory. I want peace.
