For people who’ve been to Japan

What SIM card do you use? eSIM? Local SIM card?

Where to buy?

Get an eSIM. It’s a no brainer. I use airalo. There are many sites now days but I’ve been using these guys for a few years and works really well

I’ve used esims before but I genuinely don’t like the connections… I’ve had very bad connections previous trips…

I think it is which carriers the service uses. I’ve tried a few services and generally I find airalo uses the better networks. I assume this is why it costs a few dollars more. I guess in this instance you get what you pay for.

If you have a burner/old phone an eSIM makes things pretty simple https://www.airalo.com/japan-esim

Airola has worked well for me but I haven’t been to Japan. A mobile wifi device (global region ready) with a local sim bought at the airport is another option. Handy if you take multiple trips abroad

I used an esim from silent.link

Worked great.

Does it work well? I’ve hear you better use a local provider instead of global providers

I think it’s the same, and eSIM is cheaper

Thanks bro

T-mobile handles Japan for you, fwiw.
