Any other #ubuntu users seeing a crazy memory leak with snap store? Taking up like a full gig over here and eventually crashes the system lately. Ending the process doesn’t seem to break anything - I may just uninstall the snap store altogether.

I've never used snap! Mind you, I only use for testing. First thing after install is remove snap(d), stop auto updates, install synaptic.

Snap was the worst thing Ubuntu did.

Thanks for the heads up there — sounds like I won’t miss it

I haven't kept track, but Ubuntu was moving fully to snaps, not sure now, however, if you like Ubuntu & don't want snaps mint Linux is a good choice as although based on Ubuntu it doesn't have snaps.

Yeah maybe this is signaling that it's time to move to a different distro. I've only ever used Ubuntu but I don't really use the GUI much. I think most of my GUI usage is for looking up how to do things in Linux. 🤣

I run guix Linux, Peppermint/devuan, mxlinux, & artix/obarun - sometimes I'll install slackware just for fun lol! Oh and puppy/easyos Linux.

I don't use systemd as it's security hasn't been proven & other reasons.
