Sometimes when I walk by I’ll put my hand on one and I swear I can feel its energy. As if all the years it’s collected speaks at once.

It’s true! Don’t let your mind trick you otherwise. They hold so much energy. They can be so wise. My favourite past times is to sit under them on the ground with my back against the trunk.
They do make for very good company. Perhaps the lowest time preference of any living thing, and with age comes wisdom. I’ve been to see one the oldest known trees in Joshua Tree and one of the largest in the Redwoods. Simply majestic.
