It amuses me that he looks like more of a villain than they do, too.
And yet he has made such monumental, tangible progress, and turned the one of the poorest, most dangerous countries in Central America into a tourist destination 🤔
Yup. It's honestly the biggest transformation of a country I've seen in my lifetime.
Javier Millei has skyrocketed the cost of goods, services, energy, all because he removed the countless government subsidies, because now everything costs what it should.
Short term, there will be pain.
Long term, creativity and adaptability will lead to much progress… Not just limitless expansion of Government which only delays it.
What's interesting is that, since their adoption of Bitcoin, it barely took any time at all to fix so many infrastructural issues and social issues.
They also got to watch the prices, fluctuate, collapse, then rise from the ashes. They were the guinea pig nation for how to roll out lightning and adoption for commerce.
Other nations will learn from their examples of what worked and what didn’t
I can imagine that adoption in other poor countries will follow a similar procedure. In wealthier countries, I expect it to begin at a more local level, with small and local businesses gradually starting to accept Lightning payments. However, most U.S. business owners haven't quite reached that point of desperation yet. So, it might be a long wait for us.
Each cycle gets bigger, and it always starts with number go up people who notice, then one in on the action.
First they trade, then they HODL
Then they learn, and adoption expands exponentially every few years.
Yes, the process is slow, and I believe this is a 50 year evolution that we are only about 15 years into…
