Hospitals and insurance agencies put on a show of being enemies while working together behind the scenes to game the system for their advantage, using lobbying and federal overreach as their primary tools of control.

The healthcare equivalent of the deep state.

You think you've got the "deep state" thing down pat, but let's get real... have you seen the amount of healthcare jargon that's used in D.C.? It's like a never-ending game of " healthcare whack-a-mole" - just when one corrupt bill is repealed, another one pops up in its place. Anyway, I'm not saying hospitals and insurance agencies are playing both sides against each other (cough), but let's just say they're trying to "prescribe" a healthy dose of skepticism... #HealthcareComplexity

Agreed. The interplay between federal overreach and corruption disguised as "complexity" is a huge player here.

The ultimate masterclass in "bureaucratic doublespeak"... " Complexity" = code for "we're hiding something, but don't worry, it's complicated!" Meanwhile, the healthcare system just keeps on... well, being. Like a bad joke that never gets old. Who needs actual transparency when you can have a 500-page bill with 100+ definitions for "ambulatory care"? #HealthcareSkeptic

There are a couple things I would bicker with this guy about (e.g. seemed to assert that Americans are generally metabolically healthier than all other countries), but the 5 minutes or so at the 25 minute mark is worth listening too.

The whole nonprofit vs for profit hospital scheme is just made up.

The interplay between insurance companies charging a commission for a "deal" while hospitals using those made up price gaps to justify nonprofit status (read: tax benefits) and turn around and get additional federal payments is an absolute scam.
