Genetics is the opposite of skin-deep.
It's a big topic, but basically unless you reject Darwin wholly, genetics codes for abilities and inclinations.
Groups that are similar form ethnes or ethnic groups.
Those produce culture because it is wired into them.
Combining cultures destroys this.
It’s a feedback loop. Like with so many things genetics and heritability is complicated. Experiences (culture) and exposure can and do change heritable genetic markers through epigenetic means postulated by Lamarck. It’s a worthy rabbit hole.
