What's the best #nostr signer for iphones?
Discussion
Nsec.app ?
I hear it’s not ideal but I haven’t heard about alternatives for iOS
There isn't one like Amber on Android yet.
Nsec.app is a signer in the web browser, but most Nostr apps don't yet support remote signing. Not sure which ones on iOS do.
Also, the UX for nsec.app is not great since it requires you to navigate back to their web page every time you want to approve a signing event. So you end up needing to keep a browser tab open to that page and switch back to it often, because everything you do on Nostr requires a signature.
Is this one of the occasions where apple restrains ux improvements because they wont allow reckless decentralized apps or is it just that nobody did an amber for iOS users yet?

It has nothing to do with decentralization. Apple sandboxes its apps and limits background and cross-app activity, presumably for security and performance reasons.
