Anything in particular? Definitely different from Android

I want the damn keyboard to disappear and I can’t figure out how to do that. I don’t like that I can’t easily use a comma or a period. Right now I’m really hating the keyboard more than anything. Why can’t I easily select text to copy and paste? Rage.
Drag down from just above the keyboard.
That makes the whole thing go away 😂
lol. Damn. I tried. In the Damus note compose window? Yeah I just noticed that. In most apps that’ll work. Sorry Derek. 🫂
Can someone pls help the poor guy? Lol I can’t. I barely know how to use iOS and it’s been like a decade. nostr:npub1xtscya34g58tk0z605fvr788k263gsu6cy9x0mhnm87echrgufzsevkk5s teaches me new tricks all the time
LOL keep breathing calmly. dont break things. Breath in breath out. like Dad taught you! ✌️😂 1 > 10 🧮
So funny, these were all my exact complaints the first time I used an android phone. The keyboard is my main reason I prefer iOS 😂 it’s a muscle memory thing for sure.
I am typing this sentence with my eyes closed, let’s see how we did..
^case in point lol
I keep hitting return instead of a period. I hate it.
Exactly! I was so used to hitting shift for punctuation 😂
I do wish that the period and comma were visible on the main keyboard. There is a shortcut if you double tap space bar it will add period. Also the keyboard is contextual depending on the app or the text field. When inputting an email address, for instance, it will show an “@“ and a period on the main keyboard screen. But in general I wish it showed the period and comma all the time.
Something something old dog…..
If you flick downward slightly above the keyboard it will disappear. Sometimes you can also tap the screen outside the keyboard and it will disappear. Maybe depends on the app. To select text long press on the text and then it highlights that text and reveals the handles to drag and select additional text. https://video.nostr.build/d819fbbc67a72c86b7b516562d733af2d6c0173b74c548167de12b8807924731.mp4
If you type two spaces, iOS will replace the two spaces with a period followed by a space. (In a typical text field. Hopefully that isn't an option I set long ago and forgot wasn't a default.)
Yep. That works well. My muscle memory has me hitting return but I’m retraining myself the more I use this.
Also, if you *press and hold* the "123" key, which switches to the punctuation keyboard, you can drag your finger over the period or comma, and when you release, it'll insert the punctuation and automagically return to the alphabet keyboard.
