The age old question of, is it better to feel something than to feel nothing at all.
You pose a good scenario, it does seem selfish to perpetuate an existence that is nothing but pain for some.

Maybe feeling nothing is actually the greatest feeling of anguish and we prefer suffering over it. But it dosen't really make sense since there's nothing to feel nothing.
Not only is there nothing, it means you never existed. What is worse, suffering or non existence?
Suffering seems worse. No hesitation. But maybe I'm missing something.
Definitely interesting to ponder, would it be worth it to remove all consciousness that has ever existed, all human experience, just to avoid suffering? I don’t claim to know the answer
Me neither but I've pondered the question a lot and the only conclusion I can reach is that, yes, it would be worth it to remove all consciousness.
I even believe that God himself would like not to be. But that dosen't make sense as he is. Simply. He is. Non existence is not a thing and therefore cannot be. That's why we are infinite.
I love this conversation, that 2nd paragraph is a work of art.
