I agree with some of the comments on Will's post. Personally I'm not interested in "read" receipts for DM's, but rather a way to quickly find unread posts in the feed would be nice.

I suppose there could be multiple ways to look at this, meaning there is a difference between a count of unread posts to reference and a feed location in which the user left off.

I think I would be more interested in quickly finding the last location I was at within the feed. Perhaps this is a sloppy/unnecessary function to implement. I'm sort of processing out loud.

I just feel like my only annoyance with Nostr clients in general (not your amazing client in particular) is that I'm constantly spending time to go back and find where I left off reading my feed. It seems that location persists as long as the app stays in memory (Android 13/14) but if I open the client hours later I seem to land in an arbitrary location within the feed, in which posts both below and above are unread.
