Wrong. It says for the LOVE of money is the root of all evil. Nowhere does it say money is evil. This is a mistake so many people make with this bible passage.

"Or did you say it’s the love of money that’s the root of all evil? To love a thing is to know and love its nature. To love money is to know and love the fact that money is the creation of the best power within you, and your passkey to trade your effort for the effort of the best among men. It’s the person who would sell his soul for a nickel, who is loudest in proclaiming his hatred of money–and he has good reason to hate it. The lovers of money are willing to work for it. They know they are able to deserve it.

“Let me give you a tip on a clue to men’s characters: the man who damns money has obtained it dishonorably; the man who respects it has earned it.

“Run for your life from any man who tells you that money is evil. That sentence is the leper’s bell of an approaching looter. So long as men live together on earth and need means to deal with one another–their only substitute, if they abandon money, is the muzzle of a gun."

Ya no one is saying money is evil..

Centralized money is evil. Decentralized money isn't. Simple as that.

No money is evil 😂

Loving it is.

Fair point.

How is it evil to love the tool which allows us to engage in mutually beneficial trade with people from all walks of life? Honest money is the greatest tool of peace & prosperity to ever exist. I think anyone who doesn't is either confused or corrupt.

I think it will help clarify the scripture passage if i include the passages before and after.

6 But godliness with contentment is great gain.

7 For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out.

8 And having food and raiment let us be therewith content.

9 But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition.

10 For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

11 But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.

"Meek" meant civilized

Those who seek honest money by honest means must be extremely patient & are pursuing a path of creation & trade (God tells us to create well) which is the most civilized path open to us.

To "create well" requires knowing God (being very in touch with reality) & having passion or love for something meanigful in order to even begin to kniw how create value for others.

Because money isn't everything. It only has value because we choose to place value on it. Whatever people choose to contribute to society is real value.

Money is a tool that amplifies & makes value creation sustainable & expands the good that people can do. Without money billions of people would die & the rest would be left in poverty. We are only prosperous because of our ability to trade. Money connects people & makes them more productive & ultimately better people.

Of course when money is corrupted it tends to spread evils in much the same way that honest money spreads good, so it's easy to get confused.

Can money be corrupt or are people corrupt with their money?

People are corrupt. Simple.

No, I am talking about the money itself being corrupted. The economic & political history is crystal clear on this. When there is honest money then even the corrupt are incentivized to do good. But when the money has been corrupted, then even the good are made to serve evil.

If you hold or trade in dollars & pay taxes today you are funding evil because the dollar has been corrupted into something that fuels an extremely evil war machine & an insane medical system that cures nothing & works to keep people in a perpetual state of sickness.

I agree sir. At the same time while i spend my money ethically i take no part in that corruption. To see it the way you explain i can see money as evil with regards to its inflation. This is wrong.

I agree. Mr. Swann, you just answered your own perplexity. 👍

Inflation is the destruction of money. Money is a tool of good. The destruction of money is evil.

💯🫡

👀 Have you seen what's going on in the world right now?! You call this prosperity?! Money is purely conceptual. It just a means of determining how much individuals contribute to society. The unsustainable and immesley corrupt fiat system has proven this because the vast majority of politicians and corporate crimelords have done nothing but destroy society. Look at the mess we live in.

“money is the creation of the best power within you”

I find this quite gross actually.

People who find a statement like that gross are generally the type willing to do work that on some level is contributing to something very wrong.

People who produce good & services that are actually good for others tend to see money as a beautiful thing.

Well thats not the case for me if your implying it is. Money is not the best power within me. That would be God and his Spirit!

Honest money is literally the tool we need to bring the kingdom of heaven to earth.

He will send you a boat, but you have to be smart enough to recognize it & get on.

“Honest money is literally the tool we need to bring the kingdom of heaven to earth.”

Pure blasphemy.

I really don’t want to argue but I have to call it like I see it. I hope you don’t feel any disrespect friend. 🙏💜

A disappointing but common response... I'm always a blasphemer or just "not a Christian" according to a whole bunch of people who seem to think they are, but no one ever seems to be able to make a decent argument 😐

My friend, I think what you said is blasphemy but I do not think of you as “not a Christian’.

As for argument, i think the other passages of scripture can serve as an argument against your point. Do you disagree with the scripture passages i shared?

I think it is correct to guard oneself against empty or meaningless pursuits, which might be afforded by someone with money. I think the divide between good & evil is in the prioritization of the pursuit of what is true vs the prioritization of status & power. I think that is what a lot of the Bible is trying to illustrate in one form or another.

Money is not the real problem. Seeking status at the expense of what is good or true is the problem. That applies to politicians & bureaucrats who lie to get ahead, as well as the person who just keeps their head down & goes along with what is wrong to keep their job, because doing what is right might cost them their current social standing or their nice comfortable life.

I think it’s meant that money is a creation from the best of humanity. I mean do you find the statement gross if you read on the rest of the sentence.

Money is ONLY controversial because of how distorted it is today. It’s created without the labor and production that should be how money is earned (not just as a 9-5 worker but anyone who does anything productive in society).

It’s just optionality because we don’t know the future as human beings. It’s the product of busting our asses as a storage unit.

As for the original post. Cantillionaires aside anyone who wants to be productive and make more money is fine by me. It’s made without coercion and they have the option of what to do with it…better than some government parasite confiscating money (no one ever says the government who collects TRILLIONS has too much money!) saying what it should be used for then failing.
