The difference is that reproductions in the physical world are more readily sussed out as different from the original. Whereas in the digital world they are literally EXACT copies: same ones & zeros, copied millions of times, still exactly the same.
That's incorrect. In the physical space copies have been made many times and fakes. It takes teams of experts and carbon dating and they still get it wrong. On the blockchain the creation and sale are immutably recorded forever. Provenance is everything in art. It's perfect provenance.
You can have a jpeg. Thats not the original traced through provenance. This isn't new this is years of experience. World class museums and high value collectors understand this and have bought pieces.
