This stopped me in my tracks.
Most people don’t realize how much power they’re handing over every single morning without even thinking about it.
There’s a growing body of research showing that “phthalates, parabens, and synthetic fragrance” act as endocrine disruptors. These chemicals don’t just “pass through.” They interfere with hormone signaling at a very real, biological level.
In one human intervention study, women were asked to stop using personal care products with parabens and phthalates for just 30 days.
Yes, urinary levels of these chemicals dropped.
But what really matters is that researchers also saw measurable changes in breast tissue. (PMID: 36746253)
This had nothing to do with diet.
Nothing to do with exercise.
Nothing to do with genetics.
It was “only what was being absorbed through the skin”
Your skin isn’t armor. It’s living tissue. What you put on it becomes part of your internal environment - influencing hormones, metabolism, and long-term health in ways most people never stop to consider.
I’m not sharing this to scare you. I’m sharing it because once you see it, you realize how much of this is “actually within your control”.
Read labels. Avoid fragrance. Choose products that are “paraben-free and phthalate-free”
We work so hard to eat better, live better, and take care of our bodies.
It’s worth protecting them from the exposures that never should’ve been normalized in the first place.
