This has been going on for over a decade and they (the political class) haven’t done a thing.
At this point it looks like nothing more than a little political theatre before they vanish him forever but not before they pretend they care and accumulate some trust and good will for pretending to care and most move on like it never happened

I was about to make a post about cynicism and losing hope. I'm seeing too much of that. Sure, my idea goes too far.. Australia wouldn't have to go quite that far. But they have the will (according to the article I read) and the power and they are just sitting on it, being cynics, having lost hope, idle powerless zombies. And then to see nostr people reflecting this attitude of idle powerlessness makes me want to slap people awake.
