this very important patch for 17000+ nodes including 8000+ in onion ! on this consensus which side they r on #bitcoin #ordinal #filter

I haven't patched my node, I think that all transactions are equal if they meet consensus even if the reason behind them are dumb, plenty of idiots use bitcoin and will continue to use it, better get used to it.

But I can see the reason why people would want to patch their nodes, pushing ordinal transactions to be broadcast via your own node or a node with a minter seems like a fair trade off

It does present a decision point for us. As for my own node, I built it to support the network. It currently does that without the patch. Does it support the network to install the patch? My gut tells me to be afraid - be very afraid. The patch is censorship in a nice tidy little package. That strikes me as anti-Bitcoin to its core. We need to be very careful when hunting this land.

Yes leave it up to the individual to do this, maybe some people don't want to run updates in the future and feel the protocol should osify with taproot thats up to them.

If people don't want OP_VAULT or eltoo in the future that is up to them, while I get your fear of censorship, I don't see market discrimination as censorship, we all censored the idea of big blocks, because it was a market decision
