It's been clear for a while now that this is happening. Not just the US, but everywhere.
The question is, what could we possibly do about it?

Wait for the currency to go to wallpaper
Or mass withdrawal of support
secession, nullification
build locally, get off the grid if possible
I've been replaying possible outcomes in my head for months now. I feel like violence in inevitable. I may actually have to leave Europe sooner than I thought.
Will be buying a vest this weekend.
I've moved out of the city center & am saving to buy rural land
If my job didn't prevent it I'd get a sailboat and live on that
Is prepping a thing in Europe? I have some food, water & self-defence supplies saved up. I also have a "go bag" with emergency supplies.
In the US these things are pretty common but not universal.
Depending on where you are you might be able to get a long gun. Assuming you can't get a proper rifle (AR or AK pattern) you may be able to get a lever-action rifle or pump shotgun, both of which are perfectly fine self-defense tools. A break-action shotgun or bolt rifle would not be ideal but would be serviceable. If you can't get any of that you might have to go for some ghetto shit like a crossbow or air rifle.
I'm in the suburbs of sorts, no more than 10 mins from rural UK so that isn't too concerning.
I stumbled on some resources which suggest you can own various guns in the UK legally, but they don't consider self-defence as valid reasons to provide a license.
I would probably rather be back in South Africa if things do start to go pear shaped. Much easier to get your hands on weapons there, the government isn't anywhere near as well equipped to come after citizens there, it's a lot easier to 'disappear' since there isn't a camera on every corner.
I have been lightly prepping since 2021. This has served me well from an inflationary aspect, considering how much costs of basic necessities have gone up since then. I have been stocking up on food that will keep for years, and next week I am getting about 80lbs of meat, I have backup power and other basics, but we can only do so much here.
SO glad I don't keep anything in the banks except for what I need to cover bills. No need to negotiate with them if I need to get out of town.
Even if that happens, they'll "create a new one" and most fucking idiots will still use it & give it value because they think the government is benevolent.
