I don't think it follows that just because there is a lot of livable space necessarily means that we should fill it. There's a good in making human-centric cities and towns but leaving much of the land in a more natural state.

It follows because it’s what happens.

*Should* and *is* are different though. It's certainly true that humans *do* fill the available space, but that's different from *should*.

Of course, in practicality, we have to deal with the situation we inherit, whatever that may be.
