💯 unfortunately if the app you used doesn't let you export your nsec, you can be locked out. You can however keep making accounts elsewhere
You're not using #nostr if that is the case, just like you're not using #bitcoin if all you have is a Binance account.

Another problem is some clients like Amethyst only let you export your nsec but not the mnemonic words and some tools like Alby's browser extension only let's you import mnemonic words but not your nsec.
This is why we do need to help new Nostriches learn about Nostr and custody of their nsec of they happen to use a client that holds their nsec for them.

According to this Nostrovia podcast, #nostr is highly vulnerable because it builds on the IP network which is censorable. Would be glad about comments by knowledgeable folks on this topic.

Asuming that NOSTR #protocol as our new born baby still is growing and needs help, we need to make sure Gigis sentence comes true and stays true. Maybe now some techs say it is and stays. But i think that there is still hard work and a common sens needed to achive this. Just because it might be untrue for an average user in future. And if a protocol works just for a few techs it is meaningless. Same as we see more and more centralization in #Lightning #nodes that could be the case for NOSTR #relays in future too.
I really hope to have a discussion here about how to deal with it and what direction NOSTR needs to go.
So let's talk about what we can do for NOSTR.
