Is it possible for music to touch your soul?

I heard something today the choir & their voices being harmonic with the sub woofers idk if it was the cellos, the voices, the vibrations, or what but it hit me hard in the heart. Made me think of my boy who passed away last year. He wasn't my son but it hurts like he was my son. Now i'm in tears trying not to embarass myself in public.

I'd like to think that music could touch your soul, stimulate your mind, draw out specific emotions, & bring pressure to your heart. I really felt out of control for no reason in a public place.
