Donā€™t sign up for Threads if you have an Instagram account. Both accounts will be linked and you wonā€™t be able to delete without deleting the other.

Remember itā€™s all about tracking your every move and selling your profile to advertisers!

I linked my instagram to Threads because I was preserving my ID of DeanSMS from being used by others. I have done this with most social apps. Of course, I logoff of such and don't return except in a blue moon.

Not sure how DeanSMS works but if you ever lose that phone number to someone else your account is theirs ā€¦ basically weakening your security

I am making a note to always change telelphone number / email address before changing them. thanks.
