I came across this American woman who made $216 in gross revenue selling hot dogs. After expenses, she walked away with $146 in profit — but that figure doesn’t account for gas, propane, supplies, and other miscellaneous costs. She also didn’t mention how many hours she worked.

According to ChatGPT, her actual profit was probably closer to $100–$120 after factoring in all expenses.

If you live in a state with good weather year-round, you could potentially run a hot dog stand consistently but personally, it doesn’t seem worth it. ChatGPT also pointed out that working at a place like McDonald’s might be easier, more stable, and possibly even more profitable, depending on your situation.

It’s wild how so many people hustle hard in the fiat system, only to barely scrape by.

We all gotta eat. Don't forget about the investment into the cart. The good one's aren't cheap. And, of course, licensing fees and taxes.

In this video, she made over 400 in 4 hours (including setup and take down).

She says after supplies she profited 250.

She also said she would have stayed longer but there was some rain.

Good days/bad days.

ya it seems that the income of these cart vendors goes up and down quite a lot depending on the season/holiday/weather.

Some seem to make a lot especially in cities like New York but the also work hard. Personally I prefer working inside an actual building. In the video she stands outside all day in the hot sun burning her skin, not to mention where to takes washroom breaks.

I worked at fast food before and it was quite easy and fun at times compared to working outside by yourself.

Good points. Actually, shee had a helper in this video. Wonder what she got paid... it wasn't discussed.

But in a place like florida, if you're willing to brave the heat, you can work year round. Say 3 days/week averaging 200/day 50 weeks/year... that's 30k part time and you can always sell your business and cart.

She died have a shade structure.
