You know we can have GMOs and sustainable farming at the same time right? Just because throwing a monocrop over a huge field and destroying the should and poisoning food is the high time preference way to farm doesn't mean you can't use the same GMOs in a low time preference manner like building vertical farms in indoor controlled environments powered by solar.

The current political climate has clouded your perception to say we should regress to become sustainable rather than progress to become so.

Thank you for enlightening for me that both exist. 🙄

You eat the monocrops, I’ll eat from the sustainable farm with selectively bred seeds then if they are so “good.”

Politics has nothing to do with food. Or at least it shouldn’t unless you get into monocropping with government subsidies/big ag interests.

Buddy we both dispise fiat and government. Monocroping isn't inherently bad. You can sustainably monocrop.

I know. It depends their practices, and how they treat the soil though.

You made a vague general statement that “GMOs are good.” I guess ‘for who?’ Is the question then.

GMOs are good. They make fruit bigger. They yield more food for people to eat. Just because modern AG is fucked doesn't mean GMOs are part of the problem. If they didn't exist, the corpos would still be monocroping the same way they are now.
