How do you figure?

For nostr, thatβs based on nostr.band data. Iβm not sure that data is even right tho, it seems off. Fedi has a lot more ppl, but itβs so divided and instances block each other for practically nothing, so despite the numbers, a lot of ppl canβt even see each other.
The stats keep getting revised on that site so it's iffy. Even so the all users data *is* collapsing.
i think nostr.band stats is right feels like theres not as much activity compared to few months ago on nostr, without mostr.pub relay nostr would be really boring
What would you say is engaging about that relay?
Thatβs all of the fediverse, so itβs a ton of ppl.
variety of posts instead of the regular zaps, bitcoin, money, dev talk posts on the typical nostr relays, really wish minds relay was not read only
I see. I like the possibilities of nostr relays and the growth that will come from curated relays.
For example:
-Want a relay for your own family?
-A relay for only Spanish/Chinese/etc speaking folks?
-Meme relay?
Etc...
Spin one up or pay to maintain it.

Posts here and on stacker news read as real to me. I could always be wrong though.
Look at his main feed, itβs very formulaic. I donβt really think heβs a bot, but the interrogatory responses are sus too.
It's not natural but I think it's a posting style they're attempting. I see too many posts that break into a more natural form of language and say things I wouldn't expect a bot to say, but everything is evolving rapidly.

Oh, unfortunate for those Fedi folks. Engagement on these social media apps may come in phases due to lack of algorithms that push content that feed on negativity.
Unfortunately most humans engage with the negative. Content creators have said that the negative comments are what sticks in their minds, so some don't even bother reading them.
Some leftover survival DNA that is worried about being accepted by the tribe.
I just think the whole thing is bleak, negativity or otherwise. I think nostr is objectively better, but itβs literally only bitcoin ppl.
Yeah. All we can do is change our perspective and control or influence what we can. Also, ask yourself why you want to be apart of X app or group.
Purpose is a powerful force.
I think nostrs biggest mistake was focusing on bitcoin bs instead of making it work properly. Maybe thereβs still time tho.
Big part why it was created was the mindset of Bitcoin developers. It's a passion project that is not making them much money. Besides donations and grants.
Most social media apps want a way to extract money from users - either by selling their data (most) or by charging a fee (few).
The Apple approach, build something that just works, would be ideal, but they're in it for money, reputation, status, and stock holders.
What would you like to see fixed or more of?
I should try other clients to see if they work better, but nostr is undoubtedly full of bitcoin ppl, like 99% of the community here.
I use Damus and itβs totally broken, even seeing threads.
