Sounds like the book just wasn't for him, but it also surprises me he made it past DAEMON with so many misgivings.

To me, any book is like a shop of ideas. I'm not required to buy everything the shop is selling. I come in, I enjoy what I see, and I carefully select the inspiration I want to take with me when I leave.

There are a lot of good ideas in Freedom.
