When communities are homogenous, violence levels tend to be lower within them and any violence tends to be pushed outwards to strangers or other external communities. Rulers used to use this to their local advantage to stay on top and gain wealth and power. But as technology spread and their power grew, the rulers realised they had more in common with other rulers than the people they ruled over. Globalisation has lead to a power block at the top that is determined to stay on top and defend their privileges. To achieve this, they realised that they had to break up any emerging forces that threatened their control, Easy travel and communication means that any one of us can spread our ideas around the world with enough like minded people that they wouldn't know fast enough to crush this. United we stand, divided THEY rule....
As we can all see, their attempts to censor and control every aspect of our lives is gaining pace. The recent medical issue has shown how quickly they can lock us down and in place, powerless against anything they threw at us, but I think people are starting to notice that they don't have our best interests at heart.
