If you find yourself constantly outraged at some thing that happened or the news, or what someone said, then they have you exactly where they want you - under their control.

Outrage is a powerful form of control. When you're angry, they've got your attention, and they can manipulate it. The provocateur is in the spotlight, as if important.

When you ignore them, they are powerless.

The instinct is to throw more outrage at the thing that triggers you, whereas the opposite action is more effective - ignoring the thing entirely.

Profound.

The news made me not like people.

I quit watching it and found out people aren't the issue.

Fascism use this tool a lot.

Not letting yourself being manipulated is very important but doing something to stop them is important. But doing that calmly.

Wise words

This is what our prophet Mohammed ordered us not to get angry Anger has a negative effect on the human being in a big way In fact I did not realize its meaning greatly until the last years and I understood the purpose of curbing anger and controlling emotion I always contemplate the great calmness in the elderly You don't find them getting too excited, but you find silence hanging over them and then they tell you wisdom and the right action

It was. He left me good teachings.

Ignoring is a skill

The trans debate is a perfect example how many people does this effect? A tiny proportion of the population yet it steals so much of everyone’s attention, just ignore!

Very well said. Cheers.
