If you find yourself constantly outraged at some thing that happened or the news, or what someone said, then they have you exactly where they want you - under their control.
Outrage is a powerful form of control. When you're angry, they've got your attention, and they can manipulate it. The provocateur is in the spotlight, as if important.
When you ignore them, they are powerless.
The instinct is to throw more outrage at the thing that triggers you, whereas the opposite action is more effective - ignoring the thing entirely.
"The best revenge is not to be like your enemy."

Incredible how much wisdom that man possessed. Meditations is a must read for anyone. In fact, I should probably revisit it again.
XIV. Not as though thou hadst thousands of years to live. Death hangs over thee: whilst yet thou livest, whilst thou mayest, be good.
