Basically the problem with all big government ideas, they don't take moral hazard and incentives into account.
Homeless folks are more free than those with a job, home, and car.
Freedom, comes with the good and bad.

I disagree, having no means to provide for yourself or easily travel is not freedom.
Free are those who choose it. Money or not. There is no "more free". You either are, or are not. Nothing in the material world changes that.
