I hate how Google is deeply integrated with so many aspects of society. I applied for a job through indeed and already submitted my application. Then I get an automated email directing me to fill out their own application form. The link is a Google form that asks me to sign in. I email the company back and say that I can’t fill it out because I don’t have a Google account. The hiring agent seems retarded and just resends the same link, asking me to try it now. Bitch you didn’t do anything lmao I told her I still couldn’t access it and asked if there was another way to fill it out. She didn’t reply and has resent the same email 3 times reminding me to fill out the form or let them know if I’m no longer interested in the position.

Corporations were all about keeping data private but now share with every major tech giant everything..
Surveillance capitalism
I've just gotten used to the mess. Beyond this, all of the 3rd party application/recruiting companies require your consent to share your personal info. So I get maybe 5-10 spam calls a day now. Should have used a VOIP number or something.
If you want a job in 202x you must relinquish your privacy completely.
I’ve been using different VOIP numbers lately and it’s helped reduce some spam but my personal number is so fucked it kinda doesn’t matter. I get spam daily it’s ridiculous.
Also if you want some advice, use the indeed info to find the actual company (no through a recruiting company) and apply through their web portal. If they offer the job listing on their site, it's likely more real than if it's on indeed alone. If it's through a recruiting firm I'm pretty confident that their all fake now. That doesn't mean sending the job app to the real company directly means the job is actually real and available, because chances are they're not actually hiring...
As someone who's sent almost 400 applications in a little over a year. Expect to hear from 1/10 apps, and 1/50 might actually show interest beyond a GFY email.
Anyway if you weren't looking for my unsolicited advice, I'll GFM.
It's a disaster. nostr:nprofile1qydhwumn8ghj7un9d3shjtnhv4ehgetjde38gcewvdhk6tcprfmhxue69uhhq7tjv9kkjepwve5kzar2v9nzucm0d5hsqgpm7rrrljungc6q0tuh5hj7ue863q73qlheu4vywtzwhx42a7j9n5qnvvze always makes this point about "normie UX". I still have a hard time believing him because so much is spent on brainwashing people into thinking walled gardens are convenient, when they undermine the entire project through idiotic bugs, irrelevant CTAs, and making their users stupid. It shouldn't be this way.
