I just finished Job earlier this week. he actually believed he was blameless through most of the trial. Elihu reminds him that he lacks humility. that is the Spirit speaking through Elihu, so in a sense Jon does have the Spirit of God with him. and then in the end God speaks directly to him, requiring him to forgive his friends before he can be restored.
Hopefully the people will find in themselves the same humility and bow before God in Christ. it is the only remedy.

Any easy way to enslave the people is to condition them into believing that their fellow man is just another enemy willing to enslave them. Yes, don't get me wrong there are definitely some horrible people in this world but at the same time understand that most people are good.
If people have lost hope then people have not learned from their personal experiences or those that have enslaved live rent free in your head.
Sorry, I've walked with the people of many lands and developed personal experiences to have hope for humanity. I've also listened to those same people and their stories.
