How do you help a person that doesn't want to be helped?

You can't.
Sometimes the kind of help we give is not always what they need or what works for them. Or perhaps they don’t want it because they’d much rather figure it out themselves.
Best one can do is be ready when that person does want help
I agree. You cannot help a person who doesn't want help...but you can help them, when they ready and if they genuinely ask for it. Don't lose yourself in the process. Is their path, not yours. Just give support. To give support , you must keep strong.
Pray for them
Changing their perspective is probably necessary first.
Or present the help in such a way that they can agree to it from their point of view, if you can. The old “make them think it’s their idea” sort of thing, or just knowing your audience.
It’s not always possible.
It depends on the situation but I think all you can do is try to be there for them and listen to what they have to say. Ultimately people make their own choices in life and if they won’t accept help then there isn’t much else you can do.
