Though I don't have a child, As someone who struggles reading, and was told I would amount to nothing by my guidance counselor. This got me more emotional than maybe it should have.

Funneling individuals into avenues they aren't suited for to feed a system isn't the way. Getting everyone to think the same isn't either.

We all have strengths and weaknesses. And we need time, a whole life, to capture it.

I dunno. Sorry for the long windedness. 🫡💜🫂

I’m so sorry, my son is a freaking genius at building from legos to art His is so gifted. We all have our gifts. I hope you have found yours and have had others praise you for them.

At least you proved that SOB counselor wrong! What a F***in pick.

Stay strong!

It was mainly because I said I wanted to learn a trade rather than get a loan for college and since I was a C student and barely passing I think they just realized they couldn't make any money off me.

Not everyone needs to be an "academic". I've learned far more through my own pursuit in interests than any school could have taught me.

I had good teachers and bad ones. My English teacher passed me only because I wrote him nonsense essays he liked. Because I couldn't sit down and read a book in a week.

In the end. Cognitive ability isn't as simple as a GPA or "normative".

Keep raising another free thinker. We need more of them. 🫂
