When browsing global you can do so on a single relay, some relays have implemented anti-spam filters and more. Find the relay you trust and are in tune with and use it for browsing global.

I am a newcomer, not very tech savvy so far but I am using the ones by "default" on Amethyst as anyone joining woul, so shouldn't they be reliable? If I invite someone to sign in they will also see it.
I know it may be unpopular to rise criticism but it is also an honest impression
#[4] is the main dev for the client you use. He is probably already thinking about these issues, but if he hears one extra voice voicing them it won’t hurt.
Vitor, user is not comfortable sharing app with more people and help onboard new plebs due to the content that pops up in global. Are you guys working on something (in app, on default relays, at protocol level…) that would make the onboarding experience as sfw as possible?
I’m adding #[5] to this as I respect the work he and his team are doing with relays a whole lot.
Hey! Yes, this is a complicated issue on nostr because relay selection drives what content you will see. Over time as the network matures both client side filtering (using user reports that you trust) and specialized content relays will emerge (with clearer rules about specific content).
The important thing for the protocol is that the choice of what content they wish to see is made by each individual user, not on a network level.
