It's time to make the digital hijra to Graphene
Discussion
How's your journey going so far? 👀
Really good! Still getting used to it but my biggest regret is not doing this sooner. Still exploring apps that I should be using. But for right now, my graphene phone is mainly for Bitcoin and nostr, but I plan to use it for other things.
I also should have gone with the pixel pro since I prefer bigger screens.
This is the same on graphene.
You wont get ur banking apps working without google services, and I believe this bug is through google services.
I have an isolated google profile on graphene where I run google services for government and banking apps and it gave me this warning.
Already got that planned for New Year's Day. Just wanted to be out of the holiday mayhem before I had to potentially have limited phone functionality as I transition. Thrilled they got support added for the Pixel 10 Pro so fast.
They added pixel 10 already?? Man I should have went for that one instead of the 9a. Oh well, the 9a is still really good.
In fairness it is marked as experimental.
They do have a stable, beta, and alpha release though.
Looks like experiences on it have been pretty good so far, with some kernel panics that sound resolved in most recent release, data transfer issues over usb, slightly elevated battery use (maybe?) and a couple memory leaks which seem like they're the big sticking points that has the team working on fixing before the experimental tag falls off.
Thanks for sharing this. Looks promising!
Glad to share. Looks like I'm probably going to be swapping phones with my wife and installing it on her Pixel 8 and giving her my 10 Pro. One of these days I'll just buy a new phone outright but we've got over 10 grand worth of tree removal to do so a phone is not exactly a priority right now.
Pretty annoyed with Verizon but I really should have known better. Mostly annoyed because I TOLD the guy I wanted to be sure it wasn't carrier locked -- wrong language I now know, but I did specifically say it was because I wanted to install Graphene on it. I'm sure he just didn't know any better but still a reminder of where the buck actually has to stop.
