Da Nang is such a vibrant, up and coming city. It was a surprise for us when we visited.

Yes it really is! It doesn’t have that chaotic vibe of Manila or Saigon but it has a different energy where there’s both something always happening, and people chilling out and relaxing everywhere. Great vibe!

One of the things we loved most about Vietnam in general was the food. I think Danang is right up there with Saigon in terms of amazing eating too!

Are you living there full time now? I think you’re an Aussie expat if I remember correctly? We have long thought about relocating to SE Asia again but I have no idea how actually living in VN would be as a foreigner, even though we really loved the extended time we had spent there.

Saigon probably has better food just on account of it being so much bigger but Da Nang I think is excellent and has more options than Melbourne which is 5X larger, which is kind of crazy.

Relocated here from Aus in Feb. Vietnam is not easy for foreigners which is good, keeps the cryptobros and old blokes in Thailand and Bali. More digital nomads and YouTuber types here but they at least try to engage with locals a bit more.

Might have to pick your brain in more detail one day.

Why did you choose Danang specifically or was it just where you landed? Are foreigners able to buy property there?

Da Nang is the goldilocks city.

I considered a few places and when I drew up the tradeoffs of each, it won by a mile.
