This was a display at today's funeral for Dad.

In his later years, even with dementia, he worked and kept busy. An electrician by trade, his passion was leatherwork.

In his last ten years, he made over 350 belts. All handstitched.

They were at the funeral for friends and family to take a souvenir and later make a donation to a local annual cancer awareness event called Haying in the 30s.

Wow...that's even cooler than I expected to hear. I carry the 1934 silver dollar my grandfather gave me ~35 years ago in my pocket daily. It's a joy/comfort to have these small mementos--to be able to touch what they once touched. "If we don't [actively] remember...well, then we'll forget."
