The key is the level of leverage you have I think. If you don’t “have” to go back, ie your primary business isn’t there, or something else as critical, then not returning means you’re in a better decision making position

For the regular EU travellers with holiday homes etc it’s going to be painful

The governments of the world today are no doubt going to implement this kind of thing asap

The challenge for me will be what to offer to my extended family.

They have lives in the UK they cannot easily leave behind. I can financially support them, but that's not the same as giving them a life elsewhere.

I don't want my entire family sipping Piña colada's on a beach somewhere for the rest of their lives. Despite the image, that's no life.

I am getting closer and closer to deciding not to stay and try to revitalise my second home of Ventnor.

In a sane world governments would be doing everything possible to encourage me to stay, not to force me to leave.
