I remember how mind-blowing it was the first time I heard podcaster Tom Woods ask "Why are our classrooms decorated with the portraits of US Presidents rather than the portraits of inventors and titans of industry?"
Think about that for a second.
Many schools these days would suspend classes if their buildings lost electricity, HVAC or their fleets of school buses broke down, and yet, you'd be hard pressed to find a K-12 classroom whose decor memorializes the inventors of the very inventions which make it possible to conduct classes. Instead, they celebrate Presidents.
