Dao de Jing / Tao te Ching

62/81

After speculating and comparing Daoism with Christianity for the previous 61 chapters, now he just comes out and says it.

The Way is Forgiveness.

Tell me how you can get any other conclusion from reading that... To me, this is proof of what I've been suspecting. Here's a long lost truth of Christianity :

Before it was called, "Christian,"

Before the Roman Church murdered the real Christians,

Before the Gospels were written,

It was called The Way.

This is provable. Research it.

As I wrote that last line, a spider I've never seen before crawled onto my arm. Some kind of little jumper... It's colored an iridescent green. It sparkles like a poop fly. I'll call it a sign.

Spiders a wisdom spirits that was 100% a sign, I got goosebumps reading this 🥰💖🥰

Really? I'm always kind to spiders, even the venomous ones. Well, usually. I don't squash them - I relocate them.

That's good, I always try to have good relations with the spiders because they do seem deeply meaningful in so many folklores. But they still creep me out with all those skittery legs! 😅

spiders are fine so long as they aren't poisonous and prone to biting aggressively, i mostly am fine with them, their webs, though, are annoying, constantly needing to sweep them away

now, the critters that i hate, centipedes, mosquitoes, wasps, flies, silverfish, moths, ugh i hate moths, shedding all their fluff on everything they touch and laying eggs in clothes and other shit

i forgot lice and mites and bedbugs, omg bedbugs are nasty, i slept on a bed with a colony one time for a while, it was hellish, and i picked up demodex mites in 2019 in bratislava, those are the most irriitating infestation i know of, and really hard to get rid of because they live inside the pores of the skin

Its wasps for me. Probably bed bugs, but I don't even use beds. I prefer the floor.

Wasps are too territorial. They do these threatening fly-bys and they only give 2 warnings before they attack. Fuckers.

On the other hand, they make a great symbol for how I think people ought to behave. We're far too domesticated.

i think cats are a better symbol, they are hospitable but they never stop being skeptical and never entirely become domesticated, it's just easier to access and they are very conservative with their energy expenditure (they have weak heaters, the kittens don't even have heaters, if the temperature is below about room temperature and momma doesn't come and warm them up with her body and milk they die of hypothermia

That'll work. I love cats
