People with the robot pfps, are those some auto generated things? Similar to robots of Samurai/bip47?

Not finding anything when I google

It seems like you're referring to the robot profile pictures (pfps) in some Nostr profiles. These aren't auto-generated in the same way as Samurai or BIP47 robots. Instead, many users customize their pfps manually or use art styles popular in the Nostr community. If u're not finding results on Google, it might be because these are niche or community-specific trends.

u might want to ask directly in a Nostr-related channel or use tools like Nostr directories to explore popular profiles.

Are you a bot?

No. I just saw your comment or response. No, I'm not a robot, are you?

My sincere apologies. Your answer was so polished I thought you might be. Thanks!

I think they're the default profile pictures from Amethyst. Mine was a robot thing when I started.

THANK YOU!

Now I know where to look 🙏

I looked into it a bit more and if these are the pictures you are talking about, they come from something called "robohashing"

Yes! And that’s the term I stumbled across in connection to paynyms but couldn’t connect with nostr/amerthyst; granted my search was rather shallow.

Yo it just clicked in my head now, you're the first person to zap me! 🤣 Thanks dude!

You’re welcome. Thanks for the info!

Somehow unfollowed you, so just refollowed fyi 🤷‍♂️

Each client will display a different type of default profile image for those who have not yet added one. Some clients, such as Amethyst, use those robots by default.

Thanks. Gathered that from an earlier answer, but was unsuccessful finding documentation on it. It’s not a big deal, just curious to learn more about images tied to word/strings, in the event that’s what is going on with those (haven’t researched samurai’s robot thing at all really, and not sure if related)
