The chain just isn't very active right now. People use Lightning in day to day, but also when Bitcoin is treated as a store of value and digital gold bullshit, they don't transact. Bitcoin does if no one uses it and keeps "their" bitcoin in ETFs or exchanges.
It has cycles, just like everything. Two years ago and up to a year ago, the chain was insanely busy and you couldn't transact without paying outrageous fees.
We'll be alright.

Yeah made the silly error of doing a bolt swap. Ended up costing over 5000sats in fees when I could have spent maybe 1000 sats almost. Was sending less than a million sats
