Cloud companies are going to make an ungodly amount of money on AI, might want to own some of this tbh

Own the companies, or own your own hardware to run your own cloud? 🤔
How? Invest in cloud compute? Spin up an AI service? By stock in AI companies? Buy Bitcoin? What do you recommend?
Yeah I think buying Google and Amazon stock or leaps might be interesting, AI hardware is like impossible to self host or even small hosts to compete. I don't think it's priced into their prices right now, they are even at kinda lower than average valuations
Timing I'm not sure, but if Bitcoin cycles are real, we are probably semi close to the bear market starting
I think yes
Buy the company that sells shovels, oh wait, wrong era
Most of these AI companies will burst like a bubble. But they will all use the same hardware 🫡
Who are the big cloud centers that are undervalued
It's a bubble. It doesn't scale without massive energy use.
Pick a "bullish AI scenario" that doesn't require the US to build a new nuclear power plant every other year.
So yeah buy cloud companies, I'm sure they'll make bank on their services getting bid up by Ghlibli spam and people saying "thank you". But then demand will crash over way or another.
There is a whole world to build data centers in, if people will pay for the AI the power plants will be built
I’ve been wondering lately how many of the new ultra safe small modular reactor sites that pop up over the next 20 years are going to include legitimate fail safe air defence systems, or be hardened sufficiently to prevent them from being turned into “dirty”disaster sites after being hit with a couple dozen $200 drones every second week. Especially after the site operators have navigated a decade of regulatory red tape and incurred two to five billion in expenses to develop the site.
Current prospective operators of these sites have to submit physical security plans to the NRC as part of their proposals, but I predict that pursuit of the almighty dollar will see security become one of the first casualties after dozens of these sites are up and running.
Not to mention that attackers only have to be successful once, at one site, to upset the entire industry and create a swath of land downwind of the site that is uninhabitable and incapable of being cultivated for crops or forest products.
I'd rather own Bitcoin.
Yep. But I would not forget local/edge hardware just yet.
The size to quality spread is shrinking pretty fast. What I can do now - locally vs a year ago is astounding, half due to better & smaller/faster models, half due to better tools.
For what cloud usage costs, you can do a lot with a $50k budget, which is peanuts in cloud compute terms.
I don't think this will be lost on everyone.
