Been saying this exactly to vacant stares for years whenever someone advocates for minimum wage increases instead of admitting the currency is fundamentally broken.
Before I was born, a decent house in a nice neighborhood cost about $25,000. Today its about $450,000. This is an average of 6% annual inflation, and an 18x multiplier.
Back then, someone that was worth $2,500,000 was in the category of the small-business self-made millionaire.
Large sums of inherited "generational wealth" was in the range of $50,000,000.
Today that same $50M is in the category of a self-made millionaire, and $1B is generational wealth.
If a single bitcoin is generational wealth of the future, that puts bitcoin in today's dollars at $1B each.
I mean most people in argentina are millionaires. Back in 2000 it was one peso one dollar. Now its almost 1000 to one.
All you need is a thousand usd in argentine pesos to be a millionaire.
Inflation is a powerful beast.
